# Pagination

> List endpoints return a page of results and an opaque cursor for the next page.

List endpoints return the newest items first, in pages.

```json theme={null}
{
  "data": [],
  "next_cursor": "eyJ0IjoiMjAyNi0xMC0yOFQwOTo0MTowM1oifQ"
}
```

| Parameter | Description |
| - | - |
| `limit` | Page size. Default 50, maximum 200. A few endpoints, such as number search, use smaller limits shown on their pages. |
| `after` | The `next_cursor` from the previous page. |

`next_cursor` is `null` on the last page. Treat cursors as opaque strings. Don't build them yourself or keep them for long periods.

## Walk every page

```bash theme={null}
cursor=""
while :; do
  page=$(curl -s "https://api-us.larynth.com/v1/calls?limit=200${cursor:+&after=$cursor}" \
    -H "Authorization: Bearer $LARYNTH_API_KEY")
  echo "$page" | jq -c '.data[]'
  cursor=$(echo "$page" | jq -r '.next_cursor // empty')
  [ -z "$cursor" ] && break
done
```

## Filters

Many list endpoints accept filters next to `limit` and `after`. Calls accept `status`, `direction`, `campaign_id`, `since` and `until`, for example. Keep the filters the same while you follow a cursor.
